GDP Per capita

The Gross Domestic Product (GDP) per capita  is the total GDP divided by the number of people in the country.

This data is provided quarterly by the Conference Board of Canada in deseasonalized form, eliminating the impact of seasonal variations and making it possible to compare data throughout the year.

This data is also annualized. Annualizing quarterly data (multiplying it by four) makes it possible to compare quarterly performance with the annual result.

In addition, the GDP figures are valued in constant 2002 dollars. This eliminates the fluctuations resulting from inflation and gives us what is known as “real” data.
